MFC-301/T-Dry Temperature Controller

MFC-301/T-Dry
MFC-301/T-Dry
The MFC-301/T-Dry is a precise, highly reliable and versatile system designed to monitor and control the temperature of dry transformers and motors. It is designed to read, infer, display and transmit the temperatures of up to 6 RTDs (resistance temperature detectors), and to activate alarm, cooling and shutdown systems whenever necessary.

Among its features, we highlight: up to 6 compensated and auto-calibrated RTD inputs for temperature measurement, 1 isolated RS-485 line, independent relays for cooling, alarm, trip and failure, independent set-points for cooling, alarm and trip and one optional current loop output.

16 bits for all inputs and outputs.

Interfaces
RS485, optically isolated (≥ 2.0 kV, 60 Hz, 1 min.), with MODBUS or DNP3 protocol support.

Analog Outputs
One optional user configurable current loop: 0-1, 0-5, 0-10, 0-20 or 4-20 mA.
Isolated loop (≥ 2.0 kV, 60 Hz, 1 min.).

Relays
Standard version with relays for cooling, alarm, trip and fault. Switching capacity of at least 5A x 250 Vac or 0.5A x 125 Vdc. Galvanic isolation ≥ 3.0 kV (60 Hz, 1 min.).

Display
2 lines, 16 characters each (5 mm). LCD with backlight.

Events
The highest temperature per input is stored in non volatile memory.
Software Configurable Parameters
The MFC-301/T-Dry was developed to provide the user with the greatest possible flexiblity, such that all supervision and configuration can be executed on-site or remotely through the existing communication channels.

Of all the software configurable parameters, we highlight the following:

Fan Set Point [1-6] (0 to 255 °C)
Temperature set point for activating the cooling relay associated with each RTD.

Alarm Set Point [1-6] (0 to 255 °C)
Temperature set point for activating the alarm relay associated with each RTD.

Trip Set Point [1-6] (0 to 255 °C)
Temperature set point for activating the trip relay associated with each RTD.

Indication Type (Temperature, Resistance)
Type of values indicated on the MFC-301/T's front panel.

Fan Hysteresis (1 to 255 °C)
Temperature hysteresis for the deactivation of the cooling relay.

Alarm Hysteresis (1 to 255 °C)
Temperature hysteresis for the deactivation of the alarm relay.

Trip Hysteresis (1 to 255 °C)
Temperature hysteresis for the deactivation of the trip relay.

Fan Delay (0.1 to 25.5 min.)
Delay for the activation of the cooling relay.

Alarm Delay (0.1 to 25.5 min.)
Delay for the activation of the alarm relay.

Trip Delay (0.1 to 25.5 min.)
Delay for the activation of the trip relay.

Daily Cooling (Start) (00:00 to 23:59, in increments of 1 minute)
Time of day at which all cooling relays are forcefully activated.

Daily Cooling (Duration) (0 to 999 minutes)
Duration of the forced cooling cycle.
Communication
All functions accessible through the keyboard are also available through the RS485, enabling the user to remotely:
  • Directly transfer measured values.
  • Transfer calculated temperatures.
  • Read the current configuration.
  • Perform a partial or complete reconfiguration.
  • Read the local date and time.
  • Read maximum temperatures.
  • Verify each relay's state.
